Captain Dusty`s Ice Cream in Salem

Best strawberry ice cream on all of the North shore and I been to a ton of places. I have eaten a pint of ice cream a night for two weeks straight now 😆 yes it's That good. But I need to stop ✋ it's not going to be easy.

This is a Salem go-to for sure! The service from the employees was awesome, Tabitha is such a positive person, and it made this an awesome experience! There are so many flavors to choose from and I want to try all of them!

I didn't really know what a frape was and I was peer pressured by my companions into ordering one. I flailed and like forgot to order a flavor and the person serving me made the recommendation I get the Mojo Frape and so I said yes. It was great. She saved me. Go there and order it with confidence.

Was really good! Got their Blizzard-like ice cream and they did a very good job mixing it.

The ice cream is ok, the service is ok most of the time.. no place to sit though except a couple small benches outside, so plan to walk and eat. When it's busy, there can be a very long wait.

Best ice cream anywhere. I challenge you! The special batch flavors are my favorite. Dog and Pony is Peanut butter oreo. Amazing. Rubber Ducky is even better. Black raspberry oreo. Rich, smooth, creamy, base flavors. Nice chunks of oreo. Super friendly staff. Many flavor options. If you enjoy a good homemade icecream Captain Dusty's is a must try. Put it on your bucket list, better yet, just go.

Nothing wrong with it. Good malts and they're hard to come by in New England where the kids didn't grow up with them.

Awesome homemade ice cream. Had the butter crunch and rocky road, and my partner had the cookies and cream. Getting the medium was more then plenty. Sous Chef approved 👍👌❤

Super ice cream and hot fudge, nice and thick. Ill be back. It was so yummy It was a wonderful way to end a lovely day.

Amazing. Great selecting but the staff was so wonderful. They really made the experience. We had a great experience and will definitely go back if we're up that way ever again.

Never will go there again the girl behind the counter is so rude she threw my order around slammed things around I had to remember she is girl and just walked out were other customers met me in parking lot and told me thats the rudest thing they saw I live down the street from them and I will never go there again I hope the color of my skin didn't play a part of her anger

great ice cream, but for $7 would have been nice to sit somewhere comfortable and cool on a hot night. White floors were filthy....definitely could use some updating

Workers are very friendly and quick. The ice cream is all homemade. Theres a place to sit inside and eat. Benches outside as well to eat. They take cards and there is parking. Highly recommend. The ice cream is amazing espically the witches brew and mint oreo! :)

its quick and easy and they have our local classic richardsins ice cream . I just jad ginger ice cream for the first time and it was amazing . plus you can park on site and with sit under a tree or talk a short half block eater to,the ocean either way it's mot just ice cream its a local experience

Had the worst day and after picking up my 13 year old daughter who was in teenage mode...Decidex to stop at Captain Dustys. Meredith and Reagan turned my mood into a double scoop and layered peanut butter sauce with chocolate jimmies happy dance! Rotten kid didnt even look at her phone or roll her eyes as we sat on outside benches!

Ice cream was good. Thanks. The girl who helped us was very friendly. She asked where we were visiting from and when we told her Texas, she gave us her condolences on what we (the state) had been going through, right after Harvey. She let me know she sent a donation. Very sweet.

Very friendly fast service prices are a teeny bit high but it's worth it

I stopped here every day during my week long vacation to Salem to try a different flavor of Ice Cream. Being a coffee lover, I had the coffee bean ice cream made with real coffee, the peanut butter fudge, the cookies & cream, the vermont maple walnut, I had an Ice cream soda, a purple cow frozen, and a black raspberry and coffee been yogurt. I have to say, that I enjoyed every flavor I tried.

Live in the neighborhood and have been a frequent visitor for years. Recently popped in to order a raspberry lime ricky which wasn't listed on the menu but was assured they do make them. After mixing some ice, a squirt or two of syrup and some generic club soda the cup was passed over the counter. "That will be $6.15 please." Seriously?!? For carbonated water and some sugary flavoring?!? Serious. Rip. Off. Sorry captain, you just lost a local patron(s).

If you love ice cream this is a must visit store (they have 2 locations I believe) but they do their sizes based on volume not scoops so you actually grt your money's worth. Besides the amazing price, the flavors they have and the quality is top notch. The ice cream is thick and creamy and full of flavor. They make their own ice cream and some flavors do get rotated out so if you do find a good flavor it is worth asking if they still have it before you go. My current favorite is the Ginger Ice Cream, it has just enough sweet and creamy to balance out the ginger flavor and ginger bits that are in it.Overall, its a must go to spot for any ice cream lover!
